The legend inspired by Niki
We decided to get us a dog
When we saw her our hearts were agog
At just eight weeks old
And a pleasure to hold
We named her Nicola-Udog

On Lake Winnisquam shores she did play
So she learned how to swim right away
Her life was, you know
Chasing sticks we would throw
Which shed do, if we let her, all day
Shed never hold back having fun
The length of the dock she would run
Shed jump from the end
Flying eight feet or ten
But, at this point she still wasnt done
Nik swam fast as she could in the lake
So fast she would put up a wake
Once the stick she did meet
Her feat was complete
Then shed turn back and slower her pace
When boating, wed stop for a swim
From the platform shed freely jump in
Swim anywhere could she,
It was no problem, you see
Up the ladder shed climb right back in
At days end she would jump on the couch
Shed roll onto her back like a slouch
With her feet in the air
Snoring loud without care
The most content dog surely, Id vouch
So over the years I would say
To Nicola Udog when shed play
Whatcha doin, Udog
And in dog dialog
Said Just Woofin It, Ma, its my way
